When Mountains Blow...A Joint Venture Between DISCOVER, NASA's Global Hydrology Resource Center, and UAH's Information Technology and Systems Center

The poster describes the ongoing efforts of the DISCOVER project to develop automated detection algorithm for mountain gap wind events and resulting coastal ocean upwelling events. A climatology of these events will ultimately be maintained at the Global Hydrology Resource Center (GHRC). The DISCOVER project is funded by the NASA MEaSUREs program. UAH/ITSC staff are collaborating with Remote Sensing Systems personnel who lead the DISCOVER project. The GHRC is the designated NASA DAAC (distributed active archive center) for DISCOVER data sets.
