Description:

Event-driven data generation and processing directly supports Situational Awareness and Disaster Resilience. An ITSC-developed Event-Driven Data Delivery (ED3) framework is being used to build applications and tools that provide data preparedness for disaster and hazard responders and researchers. ED3-based applications allow users to pre-define event-related data needs that are fulfilled if and when a targeted type of event occurs, resulting in an Event Album that combines all identified information relevant to an event in one package that is interoperable with GIS, visualization and analysis applications. Rapid Event Album CollecTions (REACT) is a an example ED3-based application that supports user subscriptions for event-related data. Research continues into improved data support for disaster and hazard events.
