AbstractIn February 2017, the Lightning Imaging Sensor (LIS) was launched and installed on the International Space Station (ISS). ISS LIS provides continuous observations of global lightning flashes at higher latitudes than ever before. In this talk, the Global Hydrology Resource Center DAAC will provide an overview of the ISS LIS near-real time and research quality data that allow for the study of lightning in hazardous weather over much of the Earth.
