Dr. Rahul Ramachandran represented ITSC at the eResearch Australasia Conference 2013 in Brisbane, Australia, 20-25 October.  He made a presentation on “The Evolving Data Lifecycle - Implications for Cyberinfrastructure and Domain Sciences” at the opening plenary session of the conference, and was co-convener of a workshop titled “ ‘Big Data’ in Earth and Environmental Sciences:  What are the Real Challenges?”

GHRC published the GPM Ground Validation Environment Canada (EC) Radiosonde GCPEx dataset.  Measurements of  pressure, temperature, humidity, and winds were collected by Vaisala RS92 Radiosondes during the GPM Cold-season Precipitation Experiment (GCPEx) at Environment Canada’s Centre for Atmospheric Research Experiments (CARE) in Ontario, Canada, 17  January through 29 February 2012.

GHRC completed the guide for the GPM Ground Validation Environment Canada (EC) Wind Profiler GCPEx dataset. This dataset provides post-processed consensus winds and daily quick look plots from the Vaisala Wind Profiler LAP 3000. The daily plots depict wind information from the profiler and from the GEM model data.

The LIS/OTD Climatology collection of ten datasets have been updated to contains data through end of year 2012.  This set of data includes the High Resolution Annual Climatology (HRAC), Full Climatology (HRFC), Monthly Climatology (HRMC); and Low Resolution Diurnal Climatology (LRDC), Annual Climatology (LRAC), Annual Diurnal Climatology(LRADC), Full Climatology (LRFC), and Low Resolution Time Series (LRTS), Low Resolution Annual Time Series, and Low Resolution

GHRC is modifying its automated DIF generation software at the request of the GCMD by including additional URLs: the REVERB URL, the HyDRO search engine URL, project page, and other published URLS. DIFS are being generated from the database underlying the GHRC search engine HyDRO. GHRC automated its DIF submission to the GCMD beginning in April 2012.

GHRC has published two new datasets from the GPM Cold-season Precipitation Experiment (GCPEx), which took place in Ontario, Canada, January 15, 2012 through February 29, 2012.
